Mosi Oa Tunya

The Victoria Falls on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, was named by the British after Queen Victoria during colonial times. However, we of Afrikan heritage know it as " Mosi Oa Tunya " pronounced (Mozhi Wa Tunya).

The name comes from the local Lozi language and means " The Smoke Which Thunders " The falls are paired with Mosi Oa Tunya National Park, which is mainly on the Zimbabwean side. Mosi Oa Tunya is one of the widest Falls in the world at 1,708 metres and has a height of 108 metres which makes it the world’s biggest falling cascade.

The Falls are a huge tourist attraction for both the countries that it borders, and it's one of the must-see places in Afrika.
